Occupied Education: Textbooks on the History of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic"
The study is dedicated to the analysis of textbooks on the history of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, which can be characterized as fake texts.

All education in the pseudo-republic is based on the Russian intellectual product. Textbooks from Russia are used to teach both "national" and world history. Special subjects such as "Local History" and "Introduction to the History of the Donetsk Region" are taught in schools in the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Several student textbooks and a handbook for "teachers, pupils of educational institutions, for practical use" that was released in 2015, 2018, and 2019 are selected for analysis.

This study focuses on a few aspects that are related to the history of the twentieth century and modern events and that have been most manipulated: the uncertain ethnic composition of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions; denial of Ukraine's right to these territories and emphasis on the "ancient connection" with Russia (the empire, the USSR, the RF); glorification of war criminals and the portrayal of war crimes. It's also important to note that these texts have a certain degree of ambivalence.
